WHITE MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL

C-Weed is proud to have initiated the much-loved annual White Mountain Festival, a predominantly acoustic music festival organised in conjunction with its then partners at White Mountain Lodge, Richard and Jenny Osborne. Held in the foothills of the Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve in the scenic Central Drakensberg, this gem of a festival was established in 2006 and ran until 2019, after which the Covid pandemic and subsequent lockdowns saw the lodge being closed for business.

Known for its intimate, relaxed atmosphere, White Mountain quickly became a firm favourite on the music festival circuit and was the perfect opportunity to escape the city and unwind in a stunning setting while enjoying a great line-up of live acts, as well as a wide variety of food and drink outlets, colourful arts and crafts, plus loads of outdoor leisure activities and various accommodation options.

Artists who performed at the festival over the years include the likes of Prime Circle, Vusi Mahlasela, Karen Zoid, Matthew Mole, aKING, Jeremy Loops, Craig Hinds (Watershed), Dan Patlansky, Guy Buttery, Southern Gypsey Queen, Kahn Morbee (The Parlotones), Chris Chameleon, Nibs van der Spuy, Farryl Purkiss, Rory Eliot, Al Bairre, Rowan Stuart, Rubber Duc, Habit To, Laurie Levine, Josie Field, The Black Cat Bones, Radio Kalahari Orkes, Madala Kunene, the late Syd Kitchen, John Ellis, Ard Matthews, Phuzekhemisi and Jesse Clegg, to name a few. International acts include folk-rock legends Magna Carta (UK), Guyy & The Fox (AUS), Brett Newski (USA), as well as Jamie MacDowell & Tom Thum (AUS).
